Well, this is the first entry and i've got a few things on the plate.
-Shawn Chacon
This guy was a no-name in Colorado and now that he's out of Coors, he has been spectacular. With 8 shutout innings of the White Sox this afternoon, he owns an ERA of under 2.00 for the Yankees. This guy has been a godsend and hasn't had a bad outing since coming over from the NL. He flat out knows how to pitch. And he can do it all. He dominates starts and came out of the bullpen with a scoreless inning. He was worth both minor leaguers we gave up.
-AL East
With Boston losing today, the Yanks will move to within 3 games of them in the East and if Oakland loses tonight hosting Kansas City, the Yanks will be 1/2 game behind them. Don't look now, but here come the Yankees.
-The rotation
With Wright back and finally healthy, we actually have somethiing that resembles a major league rotation. Johnson and Mussina give us 2 quality starters and with Wright and Leiter behind them, there is veteran prescence throughout the end of it. Chacon and Small have pitched excellent in both relief and in a starting role this year. I would not be scared to send a Small or a Chacon out to face Boston in the playoffs.
-Bernie
For everyone who has said that Bernie is done and should retire, you are almost right. He is nearing the end of an illustrious career, but cutting him in the middle of the season would be wrong after all the years he spent here. Think Houston with Biggio. Bernie will most definatley play somewhere , but it won't be out in the grren pastures of Yankee Stadium. His knees are gone, along with his arm and bat speed, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then and Bernie had a walk-off last week and can still make a clutch catch.

Chacon
I totally agree with Chacon. He is a very dependable pitcher and getting out of Colorado did wonders to his attitude. He will be the most valuable pitcher the second half and in the playoffs.Anonymous

Trade
Chacon is the best trade for the Yankees since David Justice.Anonymous

Bernie
Bernie Williams has to go. He has no speed left in the outfield and his average is dangerously low, even for a normal number 8 hitter. He has not performed up to a $15 million contract.
